José Siri of the Tampa Bay Rays and Abner Uribe of the Milwaukee Brewers were ejected following an altercation to clear the benches between the two clubs at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
It’s unclear exactly what was said between the two players, but the fight took place in the eighth inning Tuesday night. Siri, the Rays’ center fielder, was removed on a routine groundout to first base. Uribe, the Brewers pitcher, covered a lot of time. When Siri reached first base, the two appeared to exchange words.

The situation got worse when Uribe pointed at Siri on the side of his helmet. First base umpire Alex Mackay was already restraining Siri. But the benches cleared as the two teams entered the fight. Brewers first baseman Rhys Hoskins went down in the chaos. There don’t appear to be any other hits.
Siri scored earlier in the game against Milwaukee starting pitcher Freddy Peralta, who was ejected after hitting Siri on a 3-0 pitch in a later plate appearance.
Suspensions could occur in the following days. The Brewers won the game 8-2 against the Rays, who have lost seven of their last nine games.
