The draft will begin with a pick traded from the Carolina Panthers to the Chicago Bears a year ago in a trade that resulted in Panthers draft quarterback Bryce Young.

Preliminary trades involving first-round picks
1. Bear (from Panthers)
The Bears moved back from No. 1 last year, sending the pick to Carolina (which drafted quarterback Bryce Young) for 2023 first- and second-round picks, receiver DJ Moore and its first-round pick of 2024, which turned out to be no. 1. This puts the Bears in position to deal USC quarterback Caleb Williams on Thursday after moving on from Justin Fields, whom they traded to the Steelers.
23. Vikings (Browns to Texans)
In March 2022, the Texans traded quarterback Deshaun Watson and a 2024 fifth-round pick to the Browns for first-round picks in 2022, 2023 and 2024, plus a 2023 third-round pick and a fourth-round pick from 2024. Last month, the Texans sent this 2024 first-round pick, at No. 23, and a seventh-round pick to the Vikings for a 2024 second-round pick (No. 42), a sixth rounder and a second round in 2025.
27. Cardinals (Texans)
In last year’s draft, the Texans moved up to No. 3 to draft defensive end Will Anderson Jr. and received a fourth-round pick, while sending the No. 12 and No. 33 picks to the draft of 2023 and the first and third picks of 2024. -round picks to the Cardinals.
