Five-time Premier League winner John Terry was yesterday announced as the newest inductee into the Premier League Hall of Fame, alongside former Manchester United and Newcastle striker Andy Cole.
Former Chelsea captain Terry said: “I’m delighted and grateful to be joining the Premier League Hall of Fame. To be recognized by your peers and by the fans is special. For me, it’s the best league in the world, so I am very proud of what I achieved alongside my teammates.
“I fell in love with football from a young age and it’s emotional to reflect on my time playing.
“It’s been an incredible journey. Right now you don’t think about doing this to make the Hall of Fame, you just want to work hard and try to win and be remembered as someone who gave everything for the team and the supporters.
“I would like to thank my parents, Toni, Georgie and Summer, for supporting me throughout my career and understanding the sacrifices we have had to make as a family.”
