Sir Jim Ratcliffe has ordered Manchester United’s non-football staff to return to its offices in Manchester and London – insisting the club must end its work-from-home culture.
The initiative was led by INEOS and was presented to staff at a meeting on Wednesday. Those plans have already been rejected by members of United’s executive leadership, including interim chief executive Patrick Stewart, whose imminent departure was announced Tuesday evening.
Ratcliffe’s news has received mixed reviews, with some staff energized by INEOS’s desire to shake things up, while others will find their work-life balance disrupted by the diktat. Ratcliffe wants to bring United in line with INEOS’ policy of employees returning to their offices full-time.
