It’s been almost two months since Trent Alexander-Arnold last kicked a ball for Liverpool.
The 25-year-old has missed the club’s last 10 matches with a knee injury – a period of intense frustration as Jurgen Klopp’s side chase Premier League and Europa League glory to go with their triumph in Carabao Cup.
Alexander-Arnold, close to a return, remains busy. Three years ago he teamed up with club icon Jamie Carragher to help launch social mobility initiative Football For Change and last week he was guest of honor at the lunch Easter.
He sat down with Carragher to discuss the biggest influences on his career, how the team reacted to the news of Klopp’s decision to step down this summer and the ongoing debate over his best position. Athleticism was there too, and below is the best of their conversation.
