Manchester City midfielder Rodri says every game until the end of the season will be “like a final” as his side attempt to repeat the treble.
City trail Arsenal and Liverpool by one point in the Premier League title race, with a crucial home game against the former tomorrow.
Pep Guardiola’s side also have a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid on the horizon, as well as an FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea.
City won all three competitions last season, completing a momentous treble, the first in their history.
“I’m not saying it will be decisive,” Rodri said of tomorrow’s match against Arsenal, “but it will be very important for our confidence, and we will show them that we are here again.
“It’s not just this game that feels like a final, it’s all of them between now and the end of the season.
“We are always present in all competitions, but any match you lose can pretty much put you out of contention.
“That’s the level this league demands of you, to reach between 90 and 100 points to be able to win the league.
“So we have to win almost every game and that starts against Arsenal, who are currently leaders of the championship.”
City have at least 13 matches remaining this season, including 10 in the Premier League, both matches in the Champions League quarter-final and the FA Cup semi-final. This figure could rise to 17 if they reach the final of both cups.
