Recently retired Jason Kelce is heading to ESPN to appear on its “Monday Night Football” pregame show, sources briefed on the move said. Athleticism.
Kelce, who just retired after what is considered a Hall of Fame career with the Philadelphia Eagles, has been sought after by several networks but is expected to land on ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown.”
ESPN declined to comment.
Kelce and his brother Travis have a popular podcast called “New Heights.” Jason, 36, is interested in media and has received interest from NBC, CBS and Amazon, among others. He and his wife, Kylie, already had a pre-existing relationship with Amazon as they made a documentary series called “Kelce,” which followed it during its final season. Amazon Prime Video’s Thursday night set is already packed. Both NBC and CBS wanted to add Kelce to their Sunday desks.

The Disney prelims are in two weeks and Kelce will probably be a part of it. ESPN also signed Bill Belichick, the NFL’s other biggest media free agent this offseason. Belichick will appear weekly on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Mondays during the NFL season. McAfee will pay Belichick to appear on his program, licensed to ESPN.
Meanwhile, a deal for Belichick with Peyton Manning’s Omaha Productions is expected to close, which would involve Belichick becoming a semi-regular guest on Manningcast. ESPN’s “Monday Night Countdown” is hosted by Scott Van Pelt and features analysts Marcus Spears and Ryan Clark. Athleticism previously reported that another of the program’s analysts, Robert Griffin III, was unlikely to return.
