Indianapolis Colts owner Jim Irsay has denied that an overdose was among the health problems he has dealt with in recent months. in an interview with Fox59 Tuesday.
Irsay was found unconscious and having trouble breathing at his home in Carmel, Indiana, due to what police recorded as a suspected overdose, according to police reports obtained by Athleticism in January. The incident occurred on Dec. 8, when emergency responders were dispatched to Irsay’s home around 4:30 a.m. ET.

Irsay, who has spoken publicly about his addiction issues, told the TV station that it was a leg injury that prompted the 911 call.
“It’s unfortunate because they really don’t have the information on such short notice when you show up at the hospital and it’s an overdose or it’s this or that,” Irsay told the media. “It wasn’t an overdose. Ultimately, the leg had to be taken care of immediately.
Irsay attended the Colts’ home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Lucas Oil Stadium on Dec. 16, eight days after police were dispatched to his home, but he has rarely been seen publicly since.
Indianapolis announced on January 9 that Irsay was being treated for “a serious respiratory illness” that forced him to miss a show with the Jim Irsay Band in Los Angeles on January 11.
