INDIANAPOLIS — The New York Knicks’ injury toll continues to grow.
OG Anunoby will miss Game 3 Friday of the second-round playoff series against the Indiana Pacers because of a left hamstring strain, the team announced Thursday. The Knicks have not announced a timetable for his return.
Anunoby left the Game 2 win over the Pacers with 3 minutes, 27 seconds left in the third quarter, grabbing the back of his left leg and immediately limping to the locker room. He didn’t come back.
The 26-year-old forward had his best game since arriving in New York more than four months ago, scoring 28 points in just 28 minutes and holding together an offense that lacked momentum for most of the first half. time after Jalen Brunson’s release. in the first trimester.
When Anunoby plays, the Knicks are 26-5 since he was acquired from the Toronto Raptors on Dec. 30.

Brunson, who left for the practice room midway through Wednesday’s 130-121 victory but returned early in the second half, is listed as questionable for the Indiana game due to soreness on the right foot.
Brunson remained in the training room during the second quarter and came out of the tunnel a few minutes into the third quarter as fans rose to their feet for a massive ovation. “MVP!” » chants rained from the stands as Brunson did his warm-ups. He elected to play and dropped 24 points in the second half, helping the Knicks to victory.
The Knicks, who lead the series 2-0, are already dealing with numerous injuries.
The team announced earlier this week that Mitchell Robinson, who underwent surgery on his left ankle in December, would miss the remainder of the playoffs with a stress injury in the same ankle. Bojan Bogdanović also finished the playoffs after injuring his foot and undergoing surgery during the first-round series against the Philadelphia 76ers. Julius Randle has been out since January with a dislocated shoulder and won’t return until 2024-25.
