Charles Oliveira regained the UFC lightweight belt after defeating Michael Chandler by TKO in the second round. Oliveira landed a hard left hook midway through the round that staggered Chandler. He then followed up with a flurry of hard shots that dropped the former Belter title before the referee finished. Oliveira is now on a nine game winning streak.
Beneil Dariush took control of Tony Ferguson
Beneil Dariush defeated Tony Ferguson by unanimous decision in the UFC 262 co-main event. Dariush dominated from the opening minute, using solid ground and pound for all three rounds. Dariush nearly submitted Ferguson with a heel hook attempt in the second round, but Ferguson kicked out. Darius then went back to work from a high position. He has won seven in a row.
Rogerio Bontori defeated Matt Schnell
Rogerio Bontori upset Houston fans Saturday night when he defeated hometown favorite Matt Schnell by unanimous decision. Both fighters appeared evenly matched for two rounds, but Bontori landed a key takedown to turn the tide in the third. He landed heavy ground-and-pound while in top position, likely the difference on the judges’ scorecards.
Chukagyan won Arau unanimously
Kathleen Chukagian defeated Vivian Araujo via unanimous decision at UFC 262 (29-28, 29-28, 30-27). There was some controversy though: midway through the fight, Araujo attempted a submission and appeared to tap Chukagya. The referee didn’t see it and the fight continued.
Edson Barboza defeated Shan Burgos by third round TKO
Edson Barboza finishes Shane Burgos with one of the most unique kicks you’ll ever know. In the third round, Barboza landed a right hook to Burgos’ face. Burgos didn’t go down immediately, but after a few seconds he appeared to fall back. When was the last time we saw a delayed KO? The referee ended Barboza’s second straight victory shortly after.

UFC fan favorite Lando Vanatta won a split decision over Mike Grundy (29-28, 27-30, 30-27) in Houston on Saturday. While Grundy did land some tough shots, they came very rarely. There is no doubt that Vanata Pepper Grundy got the win by combining it with settings. A judge somehow had the opposite direction which made social media go crazy.
